Commercial and Civil MediationNeil Robinson M.A. OxonNeil has been a specialist family lawyer for twenty-five years and a long- standing member of the Law Society Children, Mental Health and Mediation Panels and Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association.) He is an experienced Resolution and FMA/ ADR family and civil mediator, consultant and trainer, and the Director of The Mediation Centre at Nowell Meller Solicitors Ltd., Stafford. He is the author of two recent articles on the relationship between litigation and mediation in “hard cases” (2006 Family Law 48 and 139.) He co-chaired the recent FMA national Conference on Working in Partnership with the DCA, DfES and CAFCASS, and has recently rejoined the Board of the Family Mediators Association. A Mental Health Tribunal President and former Deputy District Judge, he has a particular enthusiasm for developing creative mediation practice to deal with entrenched cases. Neil’s interests including running an a cappella choir (Fish from Oblivion), walking, all kinds of music and bringing up a family in his spare time! Nicholas Fitzmaurice LLBNick joined us in May 2004 as Head of Litigation. He is a solicitor with over 20 years admission and was formally in partnership in Walsall. Most recently and prior to his appointment, he acted exclusively for insurance companies in the specialised area of costs litigation. His experience of civil and commercial disputes is extensive and wide ranging. He has a particular interest in alternative dispute resolution having been a conciliator for Walsall Area Health Authority for many years. Nick enjoys short walking trips abroad. Family MediationNeil Robinson M.A. OxonRobina Boydon B.A. (Hons) Law and SociologyRobina has been a lawyer for 17 years and has specialised in family law for most of that time. She trained as a Family Mediator in 2002. She is a member of the Law Society Children Panel focusing on the representation of children and their carers and is an Resolution accredited specialist in children and domestic abuse. Robi’s interests include music (singing with the Lichfield Cathedral Choir), and walking her large Dalmation. Ann Henshaw PhD (Psychology), B.A.(Hons), Cert. Ed. FMA MediatorAnn was employed as a Psychologist in the university sector for many years and retains links in research and teaching. She has worked as a Chartered Psychologist with parents and their children focusing upon Development and Educational issues. She is a staff development consultant and serves on various Educational and Accreditation Boards at a local and national level. Ann also sings and enjoys walking. Judith Pugsley MA Cantab (History)., MSc (Sociology)., Dip Soc WorkJudith graduated in History and then undertook a further degree in Sociology at the London School of Economics. She later added a Diploma in Social Work. She has spent 30 years working with families focusing on problems of separation and co-parenting following divorce. Family therapy has been a strong interest. Judith now works part-time for CAFCASS (Children and Families Court Advisory Support Service) and has been a practicing mediator since 1994. Judith’s experience lends itself particularly well to working on co-parenting issues and she likes to consult with children where appropriate. |
Nettie WaldingNettie initially graduated in foreign languages and later qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and worked as a family lawyer for 18 years before becoming a full time mediator in 2006. She is a member of the Law Society Family Law and Mediation Panels, and of Resolution. She is also a member of the College of Family Mediators. Nettie’s interests include modern jazz, walking and cooking. Nicola WatsonNicola was a family lawyer and partner in this practice for a number of years before returning to teaching. She has been an accredited and approved family mediator since 1997. Nicola’s interests include walking and music. All our mediators are members of the UK College of Family Mediators and the Family Mediators Association, and are approved by the Legal Services Commission to mediate on all issues. Our Management TeamEmma Turner – Mediation ManagerEmma has been an employee of Nowell Meller since1997 and has been working with TMC since 2003. She became our full-time Manager in 2004 and is the person you are most likely to have contact with. Gerry McPherson – Development ManagerGerry has been an employee of Nowell Meller since 1986 and has been involved with The Mediation Centre since its inception. Carole Stanley – Appointments SecretaryCarole has been an employee of Nowell Meller for many years and is experienced in many legal areas. She has been working solely for TMC since 2001. Laura Woodhams - Aministrator Laura has been an employee since September 2007 at TMC and is experiened in all aministration areas and has a background of graphic design. |
